Billboards are a fact of life in the city. We see them by the roads, atop buildings, hanging on walls and almost anywhere a structure will stay still long enough to be 'market-ized'.
Some cities are doing away with this kind of advertising altogether (I'm talking to you Sao Paulo), but they're few and far between. Others are beginning to fight back against what are, obstensibly, illegal signs.
Enter the Internet and tech savvy citizens, with a yen for reading bylaw enforcement codes and a desire to bring the outdoor advertising industry to heel.
